Birth Photography on the West Coast

There is nothing quite like the day you meet your baby.

Birth photography is about documenting your story as it actually unfolds, the waiting, the strength, the support, the emotion, the tiny details and eventually, that incredible moment when your baby is finally here.

I photograph births quietly and unobtrusively, allowing you and your support people to stay completely in the moment while I capture everything happening around you. There’s no posing, no direction and absolutely no expectation for anything to look a certain way, this is your birth, exactly as it happens.

So much can become a blur in those hours, especially for the person doing the actual birthing! These photographs give you the chance to see parts of your story you may have missed and remember all those little moments happening around you.

Whether you're planning to birth at home or in hospital, we can chat beforehand about your plans, what you're comfortable having photographed and what matters most to you.

Birth photography packages start from $1,978.

Birth Photography FAQ's

When do you arrive and how long do you stay?

When things start happening, let me know so I can make sure I’m ready to roll when the time is right.

Once active labour is underway, I’ll come and quietly blend into the environment — witnessing and photographing everything as it unfolds without getting in the way.

I’ll stay through the birth and for those first precious moments afterwards - staying roughly an hour post birth, but also not rushing out.

Will you share my birth photographs online?

Your birth story is yours. I will never assume you're comfortable having such personal images shared. We'll talk about image use and privacy beforehand, and you're always in control of what you're comfortable with.

What if I change my mind about having certain things photographed?

You are always in control of what you’re comfortable having photographed.

We’ll talk through your preferences before the birth, including anything you definitely do or don’t want captured, and you can include different scenarios in your birth plan too.

But birth is unpredictable, and you’re absolutely allowed to change your mind in the moment. Just let me know, no questions asked.
